Sunni community in Gilan will mindfully attend the upcoming election across Iran, Hojjatoleslam Ezzat Sheikh told IRNA.
The 13th presidential election in Iran is slated for June 18.
As the Sunni cleric underlined, participation in election is a duty that should be carried out by all regardless of their religion.
Pointing to current problems in society, he said Sunni Ulema are not indifferent to those problems; meanwhile, they believe that problems will be solved through stability of the system and under the shadow of rules and political tranquility.
Ulema will help people be vigilant against enemies' propaganda, he added.
Also, Ulema encourage people to take part in the elections, he underlined.
He went on to say that maximum turnout will preserve dignity of Islamic Republic.
Election is an important event through which people elect the best person in order to draw a better future, he concluded.
Few days ago, Archbishop of Chaldean Catholic Church of northwestern Iranian city of Orumiyeh, Thomas Meram, described participation in the June presidential election in Iran as a national and religious duty.
