Ganjzadeh gains Olympics share; Iranian karate’s successes continue

Tehran, May 20, IRNA- Results of the 1st day of European Championship coupled with the Olympics ranking made certain the presence of high pride Iranian karateka, Sajjad Ganjzadeh in the most important word athletic event, the Olympics.

The results of Croatia European Championship that began on Wednesday, the results of these matches have great influence on the rankings of the karateka in all continents.

For presence in Tokyo Olympics, the minus 84 kg and the plus 84 kg are merged, and will be held in Tokyo under the titles of plus 75 kg. Accordingly, between the Iranian National Karate Team Captain Zabihollah Purshib and Sajjad Ganjzadeh only one of them could compete in Olympics.

In Wednesday’s games Turkey’s national karateka Aktash reached the final and increased his ranking to become the first share winner of the Olympics plus 75 kg.

As a result, Ganjzadeh’s Olympics share, too, got guaranteed and Purshib had a very bad luck to lose his chance to compete at most important world event.

Earlier, Bahman Asgari, Hamideh Abasali and Sara Bahmanyar were the Iranian karateka who had gained their Olympics shares.
