MPs underline lifting sanctions as Iran definite policy

Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Some 200 Iranian lawmakers in a statement on Vienna talks stressed real lifting of sanctions and its verification as the main condition for Iran compliance with JCPOA commitments.

Iranian Parliament has not accepted any categorization of sanctions that would lead to maintaining part of the economic pressure on the Iranian people and preventing economic benefits, and seriously calls for the complete, verifiable and irreversible lifting of the US sanctions, the statement reads.

It is believed that if sanctions are not lifted 100%, no sanction has been lifted, it added.

Iranian Parliament will monitor this process with special care as based on Article 7 of the Law on "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Interests of the Iranian Nation."

The Vienna talks show that the US and Europe not only do not yet have a serious will to lift all sanctions, but are also after imposing an agreement on Iran that would impose more restrictions on nuclear activities and pave the way for regional and defense talks.

Due to the US' and Western countries' excessive demands on technical progress in Iran's nuclear program and raising issues such as the stopping research and development activities and the destroying of new generation centrifuges, Iranian Parliament insisting on preserving and protecting Iran’s nuclear scientists’ achievements, within the framework of the Strategic Action Law to lift sanctions and protect the interests of the Iranian people, stand against any damage to the nuclear industry and emphasize advancing the nuclear program as based on the legal duties of the parliament.

It is necessary for the government to implement all the technical provisions of this law, including the exploitation of the metal uranium plant, the legal deadline for which has expired based on Article 4, and not to compromise on the technical achievements of the nuclear industry for its own political goals.
