Gharibabadi: Zionist regime’s attacks in Palestine, crimes against humanity

London, May 17, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Vienna-Based International Organizations Kazem Gharibabadi said the world should face the challenge of terrorism and strongly condemned the recent Zionist regime attacks against civilian Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

Gharibababdi made the remarks in an address delivered at the 38th UN Crime Prevention and Judiciary Justice Commission.

He said that encountering terrorism is an urgent and serious challenge that is still a threat against the international peace and security and blocks the path for the appropriate well being and development of societies.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown its resolute will and fate-determining role in campaign against terrorism through effective assistance offered to those countries that are coping with terrorism, and in uprooting the terrorist groups in the region, he added.

He said that the resolute will of the international community for uprooting all types of terrorism and its facades, especially at those times when the world witnesses the occurrence of organized catastrophic terrorist attacks against state officials, scientists, and especially Major General Qassem Soleimani, who was himself the true standard-bearer of the anti-terrorism campaign, or Dr. Fakhrizadeh, a prominent nuclear scientist, is a dire and vital necessity.

We also neither can, nor must close our eye on the broad-scale terrorism that is unleashed against the innocent Palestinian people, since today we are once with wrath and great sorrow again witnesses to the horrendous terrorist crimes of Israel against the innocent and defenseless Palestinians, and especially against women and children, including in Gaza Strip, said the Iranian diplomat.

Gharibabadi further emphasized that the Israeli regime’s terrorist acts and attitude including in its broad-scale and systematic terrorist attacks against the civilian Gaza residents, which is broad violation of the very basic human rights, and against the objectives and Charter of the UN, are considered crimes against mankind, and a serious threat against the international peace and security.

He asked the entire member countries to heed their legal international commitments, and quite unconditionally condemn the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime and hold that regime responsible for its criminal acts aimed at preventing the repetition of such acts.
