Khatibzadeh said that Tehran’s record in campaign against al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists is crystal-clear
He also stressed that repetition of such accusations and resorting to fake documents under pretension of revealing classified information by the outgoing US Secretary of State Pompeo only a week before the end of their outlaw administration shows America's desperate, hopeless, and failed maximum pressure policy against Iran.
“Resorting to such tricks, rope walking, and baseless old claims can neither assist the terrorist US regime to correct its erroneous path, nor gain prestige for the illegitimate officials of that regime,” he added.
The foreign ministry spokesman said that Pompeo had also once - when he was the CIA chief - tried to fabricate lies about Iran’s relations with Al-Qaeda in return for the received petro-dollars to understimate the US responsibilities for many of its allied countries’ close ties with Al-Qaeda that was the main culprit in 9/11 catastrophe.
However, he added, till the end of Trump administration’s tenure he could not convince the world and American public opinion to believe his fabricated lies.
Khatibzadeh further noted that the Iranian officials have throughout all these years properly responded to such baseless accusations and Hollywood scenarios.
“This page of the scenario of the American extremists, too, will not assist them in their addiction to sanctions and tension creation,” he concluded.
