4th ancient cistern discovered in NE Iran

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA – Fourth ancient cistern has been discovered in Torbat Heydarieh in Northeastern Iran, Head of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of the County said on Thursday.

The water cisterns discovered dates back to Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties, he further noted.

So far some 18 cisterns have been identified in the region that illustrates the places played an important role in the old life style, he pointed out.
