Japan ready to reinforce parliamentary ties with Iran: Speakers

Beijing, June 24, IRNA - Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Tadamori Ōshima and President of the House of Councillors of Japan Akiko Santō expressed readiness for developing parliamentary cooperation with Iran.

In their messages, Japanese officials congratulated Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on his election as Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis).

Japanese speakers wished success for Qalibaf.

The Iranian MPs elected Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf as the speaker for the first year of the new Parliament.

Qalibaf secured 230 votes out of a total of 264 cast to become parliament speaker.
