Iran karateka snatches gold in Austria Karate-1

Tehran, March 1, IRNA – Iranian karateka Hamideh Abbas Ali in the weight category of + 68 kg defeated Italian rival 2-1 in final match and received a gold medal in the Karate-1 Premier League which was held in Salzburg, Austria.

The event was held in the presence of 625 fighters from 88 countries.

The competitions had also Olympic quota and Iran attended men and women categories.

Abbas Ali had earlier hit Bulgaria, Tunisia, Kazakhstan and Spain.

She also received the 2020 Olympic quota.

Meanwhile, Bahman Asgari in the weight category of – 75 kg overpowered Ukrainian rival in final match and received a gold medal.

Asgari earlier booked his ticket for 2020 Olympic Games.

The 2020 Summer Olympics is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from 24 July 24 to August 9, 2020 in Tokyo, Japan, with preliminary events in some sports beginning on July 22.
