Lawmakers approve outlines of bill to develop free trade with Eurasian nations

Tehran, June 9, IRNA – Iranian lawmakers on Sunday approved outlines of a bill to develop a joint free trade zone of Iran and the Eurasian nations in the context of Eurasian Economic Union.

The bill, related to an agreement of joint free trade zone was approved by 174 votes in favor and 4 against.


Ali-Akbar Karimi, member of parliament, said that the move would usher in a useful cooperation with the Eurasian nations and the entire world and that accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will serve as a prelude to joining the World Trade Organization (WTO).


The agreement will be the most important event with regard to Iran's free trade zones, and it will create jobs and attract foreign investments on the northern and southern Iran, he said.
