IRNA chief underlines developing ties with Armenia

Saint Petersburg, June 7, IRNA - Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Zia Hashemi in a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in the media area.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019.

Hashemi pointed to exchange of media delegations between Iran and Armenia, and said, "Definitely, developing media cooperation with Armenia will result in reinforcing relations in other fields."

Meanwhile, Pashinyan appreciated IRNA chief for his initiatives to broaden media cooperation between the two countries.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a unique event in the world of business and economics. SPIEF has been held since 1997, and since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation, who has also attended each event.

Over the last 21 years, the Forum has become a leading global platform for members of the business community to meet and discuss the key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole.

The main events of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be underway until June 8, 2019 at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Chief Executive Officer of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and UN Secretary General António Guterres also attended the event.

IRNA chief is supposed to deliver speech in media conferences.
