Mohammad Hosseini, 89 kg, won the gold in snatch and the bronze in clean and jerk, with an overall silver medal at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships in Fiji.
He is the championships' runner-up following an athlete from Saudi Arabia. Another athlete from Poland won the bronze medal and came third.
The event kicked off on June 1 and will run until June 8 in Suva, the capital of the South Pacific country.
Hossein Soltani, another Iranian athlete in 81 kg won the bronze medal of the event and was ranked the third after athletes from Latvia and Colombia.
