Iran, Iraq universities mull expansion of academic cooperation

Tehran, June 1, IRNA- Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) said on Saturday that it is going to open an international campus at the Iraqi city of Basrah, near Iran's border with Iraq.

Vice-Chancellor for Treatment of Iran University of Medical Sciences Jalil Kuhpayezadeh said that IUMS proposed Basra health and treatment authorities to carry out Iran's Health Reform Plan in line with its strategy which is based on broadening international cooperation.

“To attain the goal, the two sides signed some memorandum of understandings (MoUs) in education, sanitation, treatment, tourism and health sectors,” he added.

IUMS minds to use this opportunity to open a campus in Basra, he said.
