Cleric: Deal of Century not capable of solving Palestinian issue

Tehran, May 31, IRNA - Senior Iranian cleric described awareness over Palestine issue as an international capacity for following up Palestinians’ demands, saying Deal of Century will not be able to solve the Palestinian issue.

Any measure which is not to fulfill Palestinians’ legitimate demands, especially those related to refugees and holding elections, will not be capable of solving the Palestinians’ issue, Tehran's Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazzem Seddiqi said in the second sermon of his Friday prayers speech.

Quds Day is an element in order not to forget Palestinians and to review the black background of Israel and supporters of occupation and child-killers, he said.

He noted that enemies have created committees in universities to stop promotions, to undermine them and to change hope into disappointment.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Seddiqi referred to the US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, also knows as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and expressed regret for Europeans for not taking any act to compensate for it.

Quds is a holy land for followers of all religions, including Muslims, Christians and Jews, and they have coexisted over past decades in the Palestinian territories, he noted.

The enemies of Palestine and Quds tried over the past year to raid the holy city and recognize it as the capital of aggressors, President Rouhani said earlier while referring to the recognition of the city as capital of the Zionist regime by some states, including the US.
