Iran, Qatar trade ties back to normal

Tehran, May 28, IRNA – Head of Iran-Qatar joint chamber of commerce said Tuesday that obstacles in the way of the two countries' trade relations were alleviated.

"Despite all international pressures on Qatar, Tehran and Doha have always been determined to have maximum trade ties with each other," Adnan Mousapour told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

In pursuit of the goal, Qatar and Iran managed to alleviate all obstacles in this regard, he said.

Now the two countries can export all products, excluding iron, copper, chemicals, gas and oil and their byproducts, according to the official.

Recently, some limits had been imposed on the exports in all spheres except for garments and food products, he said, adding that the constraints are now removed.

Upon Qatar's announcement that the country had been instructed by the US Treasury Department to stop exports to Iran, Doha and Tehran embarked on negotiations that culminated in relieving the trade obstacles.
