Zionist regime trying to flare up Iran-US tensions: Pak analyst

Islamabad, May 28, IRNA -- Former Pakistani ambassador and senior analyst says Zionist regime is the sole beneficiary of Iran-US tensions therefore it is trying to flare-up the deteriorating security situation of the region.

In an interview with IRNA, Rustam Shah Mohmand said that the Zionist lobby in the US is behind the US aggressive approach towards Iran.
“Zionist regime trying to flare-up Iran-US tensions,” he added.
He noted there is no doubt about that Mossad has been involved in many terrorist incidents in Iran.
The expert on international affairs said the US President Donald Trump is not interested in conflict with Iran but his advisors are pushing him to pursue aggressive policy towards the Islamic Republic which is not in the interest of anyone.
Rustam Shah Mohmand expressing his views said that the US must be aware of the fact that Iran is not Iraq or Syria. He warned that any conflict in the Middle East would engulf the whole region.
He added that any war in Persian Gulf region would have a devastating impact on the economies of all regional states and global oil prices.
The analyst said war in the region is also detrimental for the global peace thus should be avoided at all costs. “The war would destabilize this region,” former ambassador said.
He said Iran is a very powerful country and has the capacity to close down Strait of Hormuz.
Mohmand stressed upon the international community to step forward and play its role in defusing Iran-US tensions.
