Araqchi says dialogue with regional leaders, Iran’s top priority

Tehran, May 27, IRNA – Dialogue with regional leaders is top on the agenda of Iran’s foreign policy, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Monday.

Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Sabah in Kuwait City on Monday.

He said that Iran is ready to create regional mechanisms to boost constructive interaction with leaders of the regional states.

Underlining Iran’s resolve to promote peace and stability in the highly strategic Persian Gulf region, Araqchi said that security is a unified and inseparable notion which includes both the political and economic areas.

The US restrictive measures are actually a threat to the entire region requiring all the regional countries to exercise vigilance.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister, for his part, underlined that the negotiations and dialogue among the neighboring countries in the region have to be pursued to help find a settlement to the current humanitarian crises.
