Iran-Uzbekistan direct flights to be launched soon

Tehran, May 26, IRNA- President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei, said on Sunday that talks are underway to launch direct flights between Iran and Uzbekistan.

Shafei said in a meeting with Uzbek Ambassador to Iran Bahador Abullayev on Sunday.  

ICCIMA's President called the Uzbek ambassador to Iran to facilitate launching of direct flights between Tehran and Tashkent as the Iranian side is ready to do so.      

ICCIMA is ready to buy the empty seats to help facilitate launching direct flights between the two countries, Shafei said. 

The ICCIMA president noted that the flight is to connect Tehran to Tashkent and Kyrgyz capital Bishkek to help reduce the costs, he said adding that Iran asked the Uzbek Embassy to take necessary measures to materialize the goal. Shafei said. 

Abdullayev also said several Uzbek airlines have also agreed to establish direct flights to Iran to facilitate trade exchange between the two countries.
