Ukraine, Iran to open joint trading house

Shiraz, May 25, IRNA – Ukraine's envoy to Iran Volodymyr Yelchenko said his country is trying to open a joint trading house with Iran in pursuit of broadening trade relations between the two countries.

In a press conference in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz, Yelchenko said the joint trading house can be an effective measure for alleviating obstacles on the path of economic cooperation.

In the trading house, the Iranian and Ukrainian companies will be informed on each other's needs to supply them, the senior diplomat said.

He also suggested that Iranian-made goods be exported to Ukraine to be processed and then re-exported to Europe.

"Therefore, it is suggested that offices of the joint trading house be opened in both countries and all financial exchanges be conducted via national currencies of Iran and Ukraine," Yelchenko.

It will also be possible that industrial companies be created for manufacturing some goods and items demanded by both sides, he said.

Describing tourism as a main field of bilateral cooperation he called for more efforts on Iran's part to ease the process of receiving foreign tourists.
