Iran Day held in Guangzhou

Beijing, May 25, IRNA – Iran Day was held in Guangzhou, southeast China, following the Asian Food Festival with the presence of Chinese elite, media, diplomats and a number of Iranian citizens in Guangzhou media center.

"Iranian cuisine, with its unique features, has had huge influence on the dishes of other countries," said Iran's Consul-General Khalil Shirgholami on Friday evening.

In Iranian culture, foods are not just foods; they are the symbol of love, identity, solidarity, and creativity, Shirgholami said.

The event was held from May 19-23, in Haixinsha Park, located to the south of Zhujiang New Town in Guangzhou. The Iranian pavilion was visited by many.

The motto "Iran, the land of honors" was written in light on the famous Canton Tower. A film of Iran's cultural and tourism attractions was shown as well.
