Iranian Photo Expo in Cannes Film Festival

Tehran, May 22, IRNA – Iranian Photo Expo is underway on the sidelines of Cannes Film Festival in Paris.

Works of 28 Iranian photographers have been put on display in the exhibition on the sidelines of the international film festival in Paris as well as in the officie of Iran's cultural attache at Iranian Embassy.

The exhibition that opened on May 21 and will run until May 30 has focused on photos depicting the dimensions of the flood disaster and the subsequent hardships and challenges created by the disaster in Iran.

Some photos portrait the challenges caused by the US sanctions that impeded the humanitarian aid in cash for the relief operations and providing emergency supplies and medical equipment from abroad.

The Photo Expo has been organized by Iran's Farabi Cinema Foundation and the country's Red Crescent Society.

Unprecedented rains and flash floods in March and April hit various parts of Iran, including the northern Province of Golestan and the western Province of Lorestan. A number of countries and organizations offered help a major part of which was blocked due to US financial and economic sanctions against Iran.
