Iran, Iraq to make joint film on fight against Daesh

Baghdad, May 21, IRNA – Iran and Iraq are due to make a joint movie on fight against Daesh terrorist group, according to Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Abdul Amir Al-Hamdani.

Al-Hamdani made the remarks speaking in a statement after a meeting in Baghdad with Iran’s cultural attaché in Iraq Gholamreza Abazari.

He said that Iran and Iraq have had many different ideas and subjects for joint filmmaking projects, including Arbaeen rituals and al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces).

Young Iraqi filmmakers, who have gained international fame over the past few years have signaled readiness to cooperate with Iran for making joint films, the Iraqi minister said.

He also said that during the meeting, he had proposed conducting a joint opera which will illustrate the history and culture of the two nations.
