Iran, Senegal discuss cooperation in education field

Tehran, May 21, IRNA – Senior Iranian and Senegalese officials on Tuesday explored avenues for development of their cooperation in the field of education.

Farajollah Talebi, director for international cooperation of Iran's Technical and Vocational University (TVU) and Mamdopaki Thiam, Senegal's Promecabile Technical and Professional Education (TPE) Center agreed to develop cooperation between the two Iranian and Senegalese' training centers.

The two Iranian and Senegalese officials agreed to cooperate in exchanging students and holding joint training courses.

Iran and Senegal enjoy high-level political relations and Senegal’s President Abdoulaye Wade paid four official visits to Iran in 2003, 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Also, Iran and Senegal have sought out greater bilateral economic cooperation. The two nations have signed memoranda of understanding on trade and energy ties. Energy ties, in particular, have grown between Iran and Senegal.
