Zarif winds up Asian tour

Beijing, May 18, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif left for Tehran from Beijing on Saturday, wrapping up his Asian tour.

The foreign minister and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi met on Friday and discussed bilateral relations, as well as the regional and international issues.

Prior to his visit to Beijing, Zarif made a visit to Tokyo, Japan, India and Turkmenistan to review mutual ties, and the latest regional and international developments.

The visits came just days after Iran announced the suspension of some parts of its commitment under the nuclear deal in reaction to the US unilateral withdrawal from the agreement one year ago, and the EU inaction to make good on the damages Iran suffered from the US pull-out from the JCPOA.

The latest moves and decisions made by Iran on the deal were also among the topics the Iranian top diplomat and Asian officials discussed.
