US hostile policy vs Iran to appease Israelis: Pak MP

Islamabad, May 13, IRNA -- The head of Pakistan-Iran parliamentary friendship group in Senate says US is pursuing aggressive policy towards Iran to appease the Zionist regime.

In an interview with IRNA, Senator Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Qayyum said Iran is a sovereign state and has every right to take decisions keeping in view its national interests.
On May 8th, Iran revealed countermeasures to US’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal, removing restrictions on storage of heavy water and enriched uranium, and giving the five remaining parties to JCPOA 60 days before reducing further commitments to the agreement.
“On one hand they are silent over Israeli nuclear capabilities, but, on the other, they are objecting Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” the Senator said.
The politician went on to say that the US attacked Afghanistan, they attacked Iraq and now they are moving fleet because they want to dominate the whole world.
“After the demise of Soviet Union the world has become more dangerous,” Abdul Qayyum said.
He said that withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a very big mistake of the US.
“Iran is a free country and has every right to pursue its peaceful nuclear program,” he said.
The lawmaker went on to say that Iran has been repeatedly saying that they have no intention of developing nuclear weapons.
He said it is the US that has violated Iran nuclear deal while other signatories of the treaty want to keep it intact.
The Senator said that Iran’s decision to give a 60-day time to the states parties to Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to remedy their breaches and restore Iran's interests enshrined by the international deal is very wise.
He added Iran is an independent nation and it is not binding upon the country to remain in the agreement if the other party unilaterally withdraws from it.
