Iran, France universities sign cooperation document

Tehran, May 12, IRNA – Presidents of Iran's Shiraz University and French University of Poitiers signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost cooperation.

President of Iran's Shiraz University Hamid Nadgaran and President of France's University of Poitiers Yves Jean signed the cooperation document and voiced hope of promotion of two universities' cooperation in the fields of research and training.

According to the cooperation document, Shiraz University and University of Poitiers will cooperate in fields of exchange of academics and students as well as holding joint training courses and doing joint research projects.

Earlier, on Saturday, Chancellor of Amirkabir University of Technology Ahmad Motamedi expressed readiness for fostering scientific and educational ties with University of Poitiers in France.

Meanwhile, president of the University of Poitiers expressed interests to maintain cooperation with Iran in literature, law, maths and environment fields.

He also extended readiness for cooperation with Iran in biology and medical imaging fields.

The University of Poitiers is a university in Poitiers, France. It is a member of the Coimbra Group, as one of the oldest universities of Europe.

As of July 2015, it is a member of the regional university association Leonardo da Vinci consolidated University.
