Baghdad, May 4, IRNA - A prominent Iraqi businessman believes that pressure on Iran is part of the United States' global agenda against independent nations.

Elaborating on unilateral and illegal US pressures on the Iranian people, Sabah Ghaidan went on to say, 'Today, Iran is forefront of countering the US domineering policies in the region, and pressure on Iran is part of the United States' global plan against independent nations.'

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, the well-known Iraqi businessman emphasized that 'Iran has an ancient civilization and a great history that can overcome these conditions. Iran's success against these pressures is another experience for the nations of the world against the US policy of domination and occupation.'

“Iran-Iraq relations are historic relations that have been thousands of years old and, in all circumstances, we are two neighboring countries, with which we have strong and very strong ties, and these relations will continue,' he added.

The situation now imposed by the United States on Iran is part of the United States' global plan against states who want political and economic independence, including Venezuela and Iran,' Ghaidan emphasized.

The Iraqi figure made the remark that the situation today is also the result of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's wrong policies who provided the ground for American involvement in the region and destroyed the region's infrastructure.

The prominent Iraqi businesswoman stressed that Saddam caused the American ship were allowed to interfere in and clearly commute in the region, and what is Iran and the region today suffering from is the consequence of the arrival and presence of foreign forces.

Ghaidan highlighted that 'Iranian politicians also have a great deal of experience and understanding how to overcome these crises, and so far they have faced such crises many times and successfully.'

He said economic and trade relations as well as other cooperation between Iran and Iraq would continue despite all US pressure and we, as neighbors and brothers, need help and work together.
