Chinese manager lauds Iranian book illustrators at Tehran book fair

Tehran, May 4, IRNA – A Chinese manager who is active in book publication sector hailed the work of Iranian book illustrators, saying illustration market in Iran is full of potentials.

Carolina Ballester, who is the International Project Manager for Shanghai International Children's Book Fair and Shanghai Book Fair,Shanghai Press & Publications Administration, made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA on the sidelines of the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair.

As she said, illustration in Iran is 'very good' and the Iranian illustrators are 'great.'

Asked about her presence in different editions of the Tehran Book Fair, she said she had attended the event as a visitor last year.

But this year, Ballester said, she is a representative of China and is pleased to see Iran.

Ballester, a French-Spanish manager who now lives in China, also talked of Beijing-Tehran ties, saying there are potentials for fostering bilateral relations in the area of culture.

The 32nd Tehran International Book Fair kicked off in the Iranian capital on April 23.

Reportedly, 2,400 domestic publishers with 30,000 book titles and about 800 foreign publishers with 137,000 titles are showcasing their latest publications for 12 days.
