Iran, Hungary to broaden academic cooperation

Tehran, May 1, IRNA – Iran and Hungary signed a momorandum of understanding on sharing educational information as a part of their efforts for broadening scientific and academic cooperation.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at a meeting with an 11-member delegation comprising of heads and deputies of nine top Hungarian universities who are on a visit to Shiraz, the provincial capital of Fars, to attend Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC).

Officials from Iranian universities at the meeting included those from University of Shiraz, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz University of Technology, and Islamic Azad University of Fars province.

Academic cooperation between Hungarian universities and ISC as well as the Regional Information Center for Science and Technology (RICeST) on issues such as ranking the universities, scientific information exchanges, and opening a branch of RICeST in Hungarian universities with the purpose of supporting Persian language chairs were among the issues that were discussed at the meeting.

At least 2,000 Iranian students have enrolled in Hungarian universities.
