Iran, Hungary universities hold seminar in Yazd

Yazd, April 28, IRNA – The two-day seminar of Iranian and Hungarian university chancellors started work in Yazd, central Iran on Sunday.

Addressing the meeting Chancellor of Yazd University Mohammad Saleh Olia said that the meeting focused on quality, expenses and financial variables as three factor for universities' competitions.

He also referred to attracting foreign students as an important step in line with globalization of Yazd University.

He also pointed to innovation as the key for solving universities' challenges and emphasized reinforcement of economic performance and creating a suitable social context.

Developing higher education based on provincial priorities, implementing mutual programs, creating think tanks, establishing cooperation bodies for higher education and launching science and technology parks are examples of Yazd University innovations, Olia noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iranian scholar referred to international challenges as the most important obstacles for accomplishing international activities in Iran.

Meanwhile, Head of Yazd University for international and scientific cooperation Mohammad Ali Haddad pointed to granting 100 scholarships for Hungarian students, saying Yazd University is among 200 young universities in the world.

Yazd University is a public research university in Yazd, Iran. It is a major state-funded research center in central Iran and the academic center of Yazd province and was the first comprehensive institute of higher education established after the 1979 Islamic revolution.
