UN planning to link Iranian, world universities

Dezful, Feb 27, IRNA- Head of the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) in Tehran Maria Dotsenko said Iran's scientific relationship with universities in other countries has been cut off due to the US sanctions on which the United Nations plans to link universities around the world.

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Dotsenko said on Wednesday, 'Thousands of universities across the globe are part of this plan.'

Referring to United Nations' plans to support Jundishapur University, the UN official said, 'This organization supports the scientific connection of the University of Jundishapur with other universities across the world.'

The Head of the United Nations Information Center in Iran added that educational systems have always been seeking peace, which has led to continuous progress of nations and communities. By joining this universal program, the University of Jundishapur can communicate with other universities in the world, saying that the United Nations is seeking to reduce the sanctions to the lowest level.

Dotsenko visited Dezful on Tuesday and Wednesday to open the United Nations and Iran's Photo and Documentation Exhibition, as well as attend the International Congress of Jundishapur.

The photo exhibition of Iran and the United Nations opened at the historic Tizno House on Wednesday.
