Int'l conference on Chabahar development kicks off

Chabahar, Feb 26, IRNA - A ceremony was held on Tuesday morning in the southeastern port of Chabahar to celebrate 'Chabahar Day' with an international conference being held on the development of the port.

Foreign guests from 17 world countries as well as Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami attended the Chabahar event.

Chabahar Day conference is aimed at introducing investment capacities of the important and strategic Iranian port city to the world.

On the sidelines of the conference, several economic projects will be inaugurated in Chabahar, Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization of southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan Behrooz Aqaee told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Feb 25.

Chabahar Day is a “great opportunity for businessmen, traders, freight companies, national and international Liners from Iran, India, and Afghanistan as well as other countries to reach the main goals of Chabahar Agreement, Ministry of Roads and Urban Development announced in January.

The guests are planned to visit the economic and transit capacities of Chabahar Port as well as facilities and infrastructure of Shahid Beheshti Port as part of Chabahar.
