Iran's 'Elephant's Shadow' to be screened in Canadian fest

Tehran, Feb 25, IRNA – Iranian movie 'Elephant's Shadow' directed by Arman Khansarian is scheduled to be screened in the 23rd International Regard Film Festival slated to be held in Québec, Canada on March 13-17.

Regard-Saguenay International Short Film Festival is one of the most important short film festivals in North America. Each year, the event, which was founded in 1995 in Saguenay, presents around 200 short films from Quebec and around the globe. Regard is a gateway to the Americas for short films and an international launch pad for Canadian cinema.

Winner of Regard festival will be taken into consideration in the nomination process of the Oscar Academy Award.

Over $89 000 of grants and services will be given to the winning filmmakers.

The Iranian movie narrates the story of Leila's father who has only a few days left to live. His only concern is for his daughter's welfare as he knows how difficult life can be for a divorcee in Tehran. Leila decides to plan a scenario for his dad so that he can die peacefully.
