In his message which was released on Saturday, Bahram Qasemi said Yadollah Samareh was one of the most expert linguists in Iran who spent his life on teaching at university.
He was also one of the first directors of Linguistics Society of Iran who presented valuable services to Persian language.
The Linguistics Society of Iran (LSI) was founded in Tehran in 2001, and was recognized as an academic society by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2004.
Its objectives and activities include promotion of linguistic and cultural research, collaboration with science and research centers in projects related to linguistics and language studies, providing educational, research and technical services at national and international levels, organizing and hosting local, regional, and world conferences, and publication of books, journals and newsletters.

Tehran, Feb 23, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed condolences over the demise of the late prominent Iranian linguist Yadollah Samareh who passed away at 82.
