All traffic on Iran's border under control: IRGC

Ahvaz, Feb 23, IRNA – All traffic on Iran's maritime borders, particularly in the Persian Gulf, is monitored by the country's naval forces, with no move being left unnoticed, a senior Iranian military official has said.

Commander of the Naval Forces of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Admiral Ali-Reza Tangsiri said on Friday evening that the Force is responsible for providing security of Iranian maritime borders from the Strait of Hormuz to the Faw Peninsula in the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC is also active in strategic islands of the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan and monitors all traffics, Admiral Tangsiri said, noting that the forces are cooperating with Iran's Army.

'Powerful presence of the IRGC Naval Forces in the Persian Gulf reinforced with modern and advanced equipments is a strong blockade against enemies, and the authority and vigilance have frequently been proven in the past,' the commander said.
