Iran among 5 countries with high growth in digital economy: Official

Tehran, Feb 20, IRNA - Deputy Director for Development and Management of Iran’s Vice President for Science and Technology said now 25% of the world's economy is digital while highlighting that statistics shows Iran is among the five countries with high growth in this field.

'The digital economy and the advancement of various technologies have so far accelerated in the world so traditional economies are becoming a modern economy,' Alireza Daliri said on Wednesday addressing the 13th National Conference on E-Teaching and E-Learning at Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tousi University.

The world's largest companies previously were companies like automakers, but now ICT companies have outstripped these companies.

The Iranian official went on to say that the growth rate of the digital economy to the extent that it is becoming the economic foundation for the development of the country. The great advantage is that its bade is knowledge and technology.
