Azeri military delegation tours Iran's DAFUS University

Tehran, Feb 20, IRNA – A visiting Azerbaijan Republic military delegation toured different sections of Army Command and Staff School (DAFUS) here on Wednesday.

The Second Brigadier General of DAFUS, Hossein Valivand, also warmly welcomed the Azeri delegation, headed by Brigadier Rahim Jafarov.

Elaborating on DAFUS scientific and research capabilities and potentials, Valivand said the university hosts several students from friendly and allied nations every academic courses.

He further voiced the university's willingness to admit and train Azeri students.

The commander also hailed Tehran-Baku deep-rooted and friendly relations, adding that the two countries have enjoyed development of mutual relations after the declaration of independence of the Azerbaijan.

Valivand added the two countries could also expand cooperation in defense and military arenas.

Jafarov, for his part, said the two countries enjoy amicable relations, as well as the cultural, lingual and religious commonalities.

He also hailed the Iranian armed forces' capabilities in providing military trainings, adding that Iranian military forces has also exchanged their valuable experiences with the Azeri side in military trainings during the previous years.

During the visit, a tree was planted as a token of friendship between the two nations.

The two sides also stressed the need for expanding cooperating in military training and research arenas.
