Joining Eurasian market great measure under sanctions: Minister

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA - Minister of Energy deemed Iran's joining the Eurasian Economic Union under sanctions as great measure, and emphasized the need for joint work with the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and agriculture.

Speaking at a meeting with the private sector executives active in the water and electricity industry held in Iran Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Reza Ardakaniyan said that presence in regional markets and neighboring countries requires a plan and a collective and purposeful move.”

“In this regard, preparations were made for the annexation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Eurasian Union, and single-urgency bill of the government has been ratified in parliament which we hope the bill will be approved before the adoption of the budget.”

The Minister of Energy, emphasizing that the 180–190 million population market of Russia, as well as the markets of other member-states of the Union, is a good opportunity to create employment in the country, said that in the final days of June, a summit will be held in Iran which in the meeting discussion on cooperation with the North Caucasus region is on the agenda.
