India hails Iran as 'valuable, relaiable neighbour'

Tehra, Feb 18, IRNA - Indian vice president says Iran is a valuable and reliable neighbour for his country.

“The two countries bilateral relations are very friendly, sincere and unique,” Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu told Iranian Ambassador to India, Ali Chegeni in New Delhi on Monday.

“Iran is a good and reliable friend and valuable neighbour for India,” he added.

The official also praised “growing commercial and energy ties between Tehran and New Delhi', especially in Chabahar Port.

Venkaiah also referred to the recent attacks against Iranian and Indian soldiers, saying “terrorists, backed financially and trained by foreigners, are trying to hit us.”

He urged Indian and Iranian governments to take joint actions in the international political arena against terrorism. “We want to have good relationships with our neighbours,” he stressed.
