Switzerland announces readiness for cooperation with Iran

Tehran, 18 Feb, IRNA - Swiss ambassador Marcos Lightner announced his country's readiness to broaden cooperation between Iran and Switzerland, and called for the presence of the representatives from Iran’s Ministry of Economy in the Joint Economic Committee of the two countries.

Swiss Ambassador and Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Farhad Dejpasand announced the readiness of the two countries to develop economic relations.

Referring to a long history of relations between the two countries, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance said Switzerland is an independent country with full security for investment, and 'we also want to expand mutual cooperation with the country'.

Dejpasand went on to say, 'The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong role in the region and its fight against terrorism, given its economic and political power.'

He added, 'Peace and stability in the region depends on the lack of interference of others and the avoidance of violent structures that lead to the spread of conflict and terrorism.'

In addition, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance announced Iran's readiness to develop economic relations, especially at the regional level.
