Enemies not daring to attack Iran: Chief of Staff

Qom, Feb 18, IRNA- Iran's Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri emphasized that the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not dare to attack Iran.

Having said that the senior military official underlined “with the measure taken by the armed forces, we can firmly assert that the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran do not dare to attack Iran and they have turned to psychological, cultural and propaganda war and terrorist blind actions.

In his meeting with Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani here on Monday, Major Geneneral Baqeri, referred to the threats facing the Islamic Revolution, and highlighted, 'The existence of the US naval fleets in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, patrols by foreign forces in the region, and the presence of the military barracks in the neighboring countries caused threats against Iran, but the authority of the armed forces had not allowed the threats to be realized.”

The high-ranking commander emphasized that the technical capability of producing military weapons in the country is not comparable to before the revolution and noted that before the revolution, 4 percent of the country's weapons needs were produced in the country while today more than 85 percent of the weapons needed for the country are produced internally.

Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran went on to say, 'The defense industry of the country today is at the peak of technology and technical knowledge to build a variety of advanced weapons.”

Referring to the decisive consulting role of the Iranian armed forces in defeating the ISIS in Iraq and Syria, he added, 'The experience of the armed forces at the command and consulting level led to great victories in the Syria and Iraq war against ISIS and Takfiris, the liberation of the territories and protecting Ahl al-Bayt (AS) holy shrines.”
