Halabja of Iraq declares readiness to cooperate with Iran

Kermanshah, Feb 17, IRNA - The governor of Halabja of Iraq stressed that the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and in particular the province are prepared to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran in an effort to counteract the unfair sanctions of the United States.

At a meeting with Kermanshah governor on Sunday, Azad Ahmad Tawfiq said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been doing well in the face of cruel US sanctions and natural catastrophes like earthquakes, and has always left the United States behind.'

Governor of Halabja also said that Halabja people owe themselves to the people and government of Iran, saying, 'We never forget the affection of the Iranian government and people in sympathizing with the people of Halabja during chemical bombardment and displacement.

Azad Ahmad Tawfiq added, 'We are looking for opportunities to fulfill our duty, and now that the brutal sanctions on Iran's nation are imposed, we are prepared to dampen the sanctions.'

He stressed that these are not just cruel sanctions against the Iranian government, but against the Iranian nation and its children and women.
