Zarif confers with Omani FM, World Economic Forum chief in Munich

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held separate talks with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi, President of World Economic Forum Borge Brende and Head of Syrian Orthodox Church Patriarch Ignatius on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

Zarif discussed bilateral relations and regional developments with his Omani counterpart late on Saturday.

He also sat down for talks with the former Norwegian foreign minister and President of World Economic Forum Borge Brende, discussing major regional and international developments.

Head of Syrian Orthodox Church Patriarch Ignatius was also among the officials conferring with Zarif on the sidelines of Munich Security Council late on Saturday.

Zarif who is currently in Munich to attended The 55th Munich Security Conference met with different high-ranking officials, including EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, South Korean counterpart and Head of Australian Security Intelligence Organization.

Munich Security Conference has been held annually in the German city of Munich since 1963 with the aim of providing an opportunity for the political, economic, scientific and military officials from around the world to explore ways of maintaining peace and establishing security.
