Egypt denounces terrorist attack on Iran border guards

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA- Egypt condemned a terrorist attack on a bus carrying members of the Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) that killed 27 people.

“The Arab Republic of Egypt condemned the terrorist attack on a military bus in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, killing 27 people and injuring 13 others,” reads a statement published on the country’s Foreign Ministry website on Saturday.

The Ministry “expressed sincere condolences to the families of th victims, wishing a speedy recovery for those injured'.

The suicide attack left 13 other border guards injured.

The statement highlights that Egypt has “stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to counter the phenomenon of terrorism.”

On Wednesday, 27 members of IRGC border forces, aboard a bus, were killed when an explosive-laden car went off as their bus was outspeeding it. The terrorist attack left 13 other IRGC members wounded. The suicide attack took place on a road that connects Zahedan, provincial capital of Sistan-Baluchistan, to Khash, a small town close to the Pakistani border.
