Iran-Russia cooperation growing based on mutual interest: Advisor

Moscow, Feb 15, IRNA -- Russian Presidential Adviser Sergei Glazyev said on Friday that Tehran-Moscow collaboration is improving on the basis of mutual interest, good neighborliness and international regulations.

Talking to IRNA in Moscow on Friday, Glazyev added that Iran is a historic and major partner of Russia, which has cooperation not only with Russia but also with the entire Eurasia Economic Union.

Talks are underway with Iran to create free trade zone, he went on to say.

“Iran’s economy is complementing economies of the Eurasian Economic Union’s member states and that’s for the same reason that Russia believes that trade exchanges with Iran will further increase in near future,” he said.

Glazyev, also a member of Russia Academy of Sciences, said that Tehran and Moscow will cut dependence on third countries by conducting trade with their national currencies.

“The US has launched a hybrid war against Iran, Russia as well as the entire world, as the international regulations are major victims of the measures,” he said.

“We need to create new financial structures in Eurasia. We should stop dependence on dollar and do trade with national currencies and have our own system of cooperation,” he said.
