Pakistan desires improved Iran-Saudi ties

Islamabad, Feb 15, IRNA - Pakistan’s Minister for Information says that his country desires to see improved ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Fawad Chaudhry, exclusively talking in a program of Dunya tv channel ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’ said good ties between the two important Muslim states would benefit the entire Ummah.

He said that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met our Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi three times and Iranians are fully aware of the exact dimension of our talks with Saudi Arabia and we are also aware of the expectations of Iran from us.

The minister added that Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Saudi Arabia had advised the Saudi administration to reduce its tensions with Iran.

He noted that tensions between Iran and the Arab world cannot be ended in a blink of an eye.

Fawad Chaudhry went on to say that after the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan ‘we can see a change in Saudi policy and hopefully their tensions with Iran would be reduced in future which would benefit the Ummah.’

“Coordination among the Muslim states would be helpful for the stability of whole Muslim world,” he said.

Saudi Arabia in recent years and with the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman getting more power has adopted adventurous policies in the region including waging a brutal war agianst the impoverished Arab country of Yemen and also proximity with the Zionist regime of Israel.

Iran has repeatedly said that it is ready to start a comprehensive dialogue with Saudi Arabia on all matters of dispute betwen the two countries but Riyadh has not yet given a nod.
