Iran calls for intensified security measures on Pak border

Tehran, Feb 14, IRNA – Chief Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari urged Pakistan on Thursday to reinforce security measures on its common borders with Iran to deter terrorists.

'We are to take revenge on enemies who are affiliated to global arrogance,' General Jafari said, referring to the terrorist attack late on Wendnesday on a bus carrying the IRGC force on the Khash-Zahedan road in southeastern Iranian Province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Expressing condolence over the terrorist attack, he said it is expected Pakistan to strictly control its common borders with Iran to prevent terrorist activities.

The IRGC is determined to continue the right path of martyrs and protect the country's territorial integrity and is to take revenge on enemies for shedding blood of Iranian people, Jafari said.

The terrorists attack claimed lives of 27 and injured 13 others.

The incident happened just few days after after nationwide demonstrations marking the 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
