Iran senior MP urges prevention of terrorist incidents

Isfahan, Feb 14, IRNA – Serious measures should be taken to prevent terrorist incidents, said Member of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran Parliament (Majlis) Alae'ddin Boroujerdi on Thursday.

Boroujerdi made the remark in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of funerals for the martyrs of the Wednesday terrorist attack on a bus carrying the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) forces on Khash-Zahedan road in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.

He said the whole Islamic establishment in Iran, including foreign ministry, the military, intelligence and security bodies, should take serious action to prevent terrorist incidents.

Since terrorist groups, supported by the US and certain US elements in certain neighboring countries, especially in the east, have sought safe havens, all-out efforts are needed to confront them, he added.

He said special IRGC military and security forces play very important role in protecting country's security but Iranians should be aware that the military forces have nipped tens of similar plots in the bud without announcing them. However, such a bitter incident occurred, he regretted.

The Iranian member of Parliament strongly condemning the incident and condoled the bereaved families of the martyrs and Iranian people on the incident.
