IRNA not permitted to attend Warsaw summit

London, Feb 13, IRNA – Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA)'s correspondent was not permitted to attend Middle East conference in Warsaw.

In spite of making an official request and registration at the polish government's website for the Middle East summit, the Polish Foreign Ministry refused to issue permit for IRNA correspondent.

The Polish Foreign Ministry's automatic email reply confirmed at the first stage that IRNA correspondent's request has been received but later on, in spite of pursuing the case through Polish Foreign Ministry, nobody took the responsibility for not issuing the permit for the Iranian journalist.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on his recent visit to West Asia that Poland and the US would co-host a conference on peace and stability in the Middle East on February 13-14.

The two governments said the conference would focus on terror, extremism and missile proliferation in the region and threats posed by proxy groups, activities Washington has accused Iran of engaging in or promoting.
