Some 100 kilos of opium seized in SE Iran

Nahbandan, Feb 13, IRNA- Police in Southeastern Iran seized 98 kilos of opium from drug traffickers.

The narcotics were found in a lorry that had been dispatched from the southeastern Sistan and Baluchistan Province. The operation took place in Nahbandan County in South Khorasan Province, some 300 kilometers north of Sistan and Baluchistan provincial capital of Zahedan.

Local officials have arrested one person in connection with the seizure.

Also some 400 kilometers to the north, police in Qaen County, situated in the same South Khorasan Province, found and seized 8,600 tramadol tablets, concealed in a bus.

The bus also contained several other counterfeit items seized in the operation.
