Iran busts 90 kilos of opium in north

Gonbad-e-Kavus, Feb 13, IRNA - Iranian border patrol forces seized 90 kilograms of narcotics in the northern part of the country.

The border police busted the opium in the fuel tanker of a lorry on a road that connects the northern Golestan to Semnan Province.

Local authorities say two people have been arrested in this connection.

Iran has been actively combating drug-trafficking in the country, much of which is destined for Europe.
